Fannin county Detention Center Staff

The Fannin County Detention Center is an adult detention center facility to receive, process and house inmates who are detained prior to trial, as well as inmates in different phases of the criminal justice system.

The Fannin County Adult Detention Center is staffed by 16 Detention Officers that provide security for the inmates. The staff consists of  Lt. Jill Huffman, Lt. Shawn Joseph, 4 Sgts. and 11 Detention Officers.

The Fannin County Adult Detention Center is located at 645 West First Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 in downtown Blue Ridge, directly behind the Fannin County Courthouse. The detention facility provides humane treatment for persons convicted of violating the Georgia Code and for persons charged with felonies and misdemeanors awaiting bond or court appearances. There are 84 beds in separate dormitories for men and women.

J.-Huffman

Lt. Jill Huffman

Lt. Jill Huffman started her career in law enforcement in 2003 as a detention officer with the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office.  She attended jail school in 2004 and was later promoted to Sergeant. In 2008, Jill attended the Police Academy and became a Certified Officer.   She worked on the road for eight months and returned to the detention center as a Sergeant. In 2015, Jill was promoted to Lieutenant in the detention center where she currently works.    

Lt. Huffman also serves as the Agency TAC (terminal Agency Coordinator).

S.-Joseph

Lt. Shawn Joseph

Lt. Shawn Joseph began her law enforcement career in Florida as a Pre-Trial Officer in 2005. She later Moved to Georgia in 2007 where she worked in probation with the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. Lt. Joseph has also worked with the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office as a sergeant in the Adult Detention Center. In March 2018 she joined the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office as a Lieutenant in the Adult Detention Center.
