Court Services Deputies are responsible for maintaining security and providing operational support for the courts under the authority of the Sheriff. As the Sheriff is the constitutional officer charged with courthouse security and inmate custody, these deputies play a critical role in ensuring the safety and orderly operation of court proceedings. Their duties include screening visitors entering the courthouse and enforcing courthouse security policies. When court is not in session, Court Services Deputies serve civil papers, subpoenas, and other court-related documents. They also frequently transport inmates between detention facilities and the courthouse for scheduled court appearances.
