Captain Greg Newman started his career in 2001 as a Certified Detention Officer for the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office. He became Basic Law Enforcement certified in 2002, and worked in the Uniform Patrol Division. He transferred to Criminal Investigations in 2004 and was certified as a Criminal Investigator. In 2006 he was promoted to Captain over the Detention Center. Currently, Captain Newman is the Registrar for registered sex offenders residing in Fannin County.
